Hitters
1.Adrian Beltre, 3B BOS: After a miserable final season in Seattle, Beltre is certainly enjoying the confines of Fenway Park. Beltre has been absolutely torrid to begin June, going 12-38 (.316) with three homers, three doubles, and eight RBI. For the season, the slick-fielding third baseman boasts a ridiculous .332/8/42 line and is showing no signs of slowing down. He is an elite option at 3B heading into interleague play.
2.Carlos Pena, 1B TB: Pena got off to an absolutely dreadful start and is still only boasting a .187 BA. Fortunately for fantasy owners, he’s also got 13 bombs and 41 RBI so he has been quite productive despite the low average. Pena has a history of being a streaky player, and he’s currently on an absolute tear. Heading into matchups against Florida and Atlanta this week, Pena is 6 for his last 15 (.400) with four homers and 8 driven in. He’s certainly capable of maintaining that power stroke as evidenced by his 39 homers last season, so this may be your last chance to pry him away from a frustrated owner. (more…)
