Fantasy Strategy: Platooning your hitters

You know, I hear all the time about how certain players are substantially better against left-handed pitchers, or maybe exceptionally weak against righties, or vice-versa, or whatever. But just recently did I consider employing this knowledge as a part of my strategy. Sure, if Carlos Pena was up against a tough lefty, I’d sit him, more than likely, but I didn’t check his splits until recently. Will Hamilton win three MVP awards?

The final hurrah.

With the World Series set to start on Wednesday, this is the last chance to play fantasy baseball until next season. With a six-month layoff on the horizon, owners should do everything they can to make sure that you’re rolling with the ideal fantasy baseball players from both Texas & San Francisco.

Hitters

1.Josh Hamilton, OF Texas

Arguably this year’s AL MVP, Hamilton absolutely crushed the Yankees in the ALCS and was an integral part of Texas advancing to the World Series. (more…)

Top 5 Fantasy Matchups: AL & NL Championship Series (October 14th)

Posey is the favorite for NL Rookie of the Year.

With just four teams remaining in the postseason, the pickings are getting slimmer. However, we at FBS don’t believe in sacrificing quality just because of a decrease in quantity, so we work hard to ensure you’re assembling the best fantasy baseball roster possible.

Hitters

1.Buster Posey, C SF

Despite this being his first major league season, Posey is showing no signs of slowing down thus far in the postseason. In the first round series against the Braves, Posey hit .375 and was constantly in the middle of the action. (more…)

Hitters

1.Carl Crawford, OF TB: .307 AVG, 19 HR, 90 RBI, 110 R, 47 SB

Numbers speak for themselves, and the soon-to-be free agent will soon be collecting big money with his monster finish to the regular season. (more…)

It's CarGo mania in Colorado.

With just about a week left in the fantasy baseball season, it’s clear that this week’s matchups are as important as ever. With some unexpected contributors making waves across fantasy circles, owners need to be extra cautious when setting fantasy baseball lineups this week to ensure that nothing will impede the progress toward the crown.

Hitters

1.Carlos Gonzalez, OF COL: .342 AVG, 33 HR, 113 RBI, 107 runs, 25 SB

My pick for NL MVP, Gonzalez is a legitimate chance to finish the season as a 30/30 player. (more…)
