Saturday, August 4th, 2012

Following up to the previous article I had written to cover the trade deadline; this will cover the rest of the fantasy notable trades that happened at or near the deadline. It was a rather light fantasy altering trade deadline, but there were a few changes as I noted in the previous article and these are the rest of the deals that may make a difference on your fantasy team.

HOUSTON ASTROS GET: IF Bobby Borchering, OF Marc Krauss

Chris Johnson, 3B Arizona Diamondbacks

Chris Johnson is looking to make a bigger fantasy impact as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

While this trade may not have set the real baseball world a fire or altered the odds of winning a World Series, there could be some hidden value in seasonal and weekly fantasy baseball. That value is in Diamondbacks new 3B Chris Johnson. (more…)

Fantasy Baseball 2012: Trade Deadline Analysis

Thursday, August 2nd, 2012

When your seasonal fantasy baseball team is terrible at this point, you have either given up already and are not wasting time and money on transaction costs, or you think you still have a chance, but need a little more improvement. If you are the latter, the trade deadline is one of the last chances to get an impact player other than if a waiver trade is made in the next month. Hopefully, you still have a shot at winning this year. Here are some trades to look at…. (more…)

Fantasy Baseball 2012: Trade Deadline Winners

Saturday, June 23rd, 2012

Are you frustrated with your fantasy team’s start? Have you had it with the players you selected not performing like you had thought? Has your team suffered significant injuries? Do not worry; there are players that are still out there that will make an impact…THIS season. I am going to try to let you in on who some of them are, even though more may still arise that no one can foresee at this time. There is still time to turn your seasonal fantasy baseball team around and start to enjoy the season. Later on, these players will also be able to help weekly fantasy baseball teams and even daily fantasy baseball teams. One of the last chances to find new players to help your team is as the trading deadline approaches. This year, it is July 31st at 4 PM EST. You just need to identify the players that will benefit from this as well as identifying who may make an impact after being called up from the minors.

Justin Maxwell, HR

Justin Maxwell: Heating up for the 2nd Half

Justin Maxwell, OF, Houston Astros: Maxwell has already started to get a little bit of increased playing time. In barely over 100 ABs, Maxwell has already hit 8 HRs to go along with 24 RBIs. (more…)

Where Are Jose Reyes Possible Trade Destinations?

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

It doesn't look like Reyes will be staying in a Mets uniform, so where will he end up?

At only 27 years old, the idea of Jose Reyes leaving the only team he’s ever played for seems preposterous. That was until owner Fred Wilpon went and said, “(Jose)’s a racehorse. He thinks he’s going to get Carl Crawford money. He’s had everything wrong with him. He won’t get it.” That comment, along with the fact that Wilpon claims the Mets are “bleeding cash” and could end up $70 million in the red, make the departure of Reyes more of a reality. Reyes is in the final year of his contract, the Mets are going to have an impossible time catching the Phillies and their starting pitching currently holds the sixth worst ERA in the majors, so there is little reason for the Mets to hold on to him. In order to get something for Reyes before he leaves town, a trade would need to happen. Let’s take a look at five possible teams that would like to have Reyes on their roster by the trade deadline.

New York Yankees
While the Yankees did just pour a whole bunch of money into the position by re-signing Jeter in the off-season, Derek has been anything but impressive. Jeter is currently hitting .254, his lowest average since his rookie season. (more…)
