The Yankees placed Teixeira on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain. Teixeira suffered a Grade 2 strain of his hamstring and even if the Yankees come back and advance to the World Series, Tex won’t be available. (more…)

Arencibia has been on an absolute tear.

Toronto Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia made his debut August 7th against Tampa Bay, and not even Arencibia could have predicted the outcome: 4/5, 3 R, 2 HR, 1 2B, 3 RBI


If fantasy owners didn’t hit their waiver wire when they heard he was getting called up, there was most likely a mad rush following that performance.

Nobody would expect that from the encore.

What we have been greeted in his three games since can only be considered a disappointment.

Arencibia is hitless in 11 at bats since his dazzling debut. (more…)

Hot hitting Casey McGehee has cracked the top 5 rankings and is a must start.

Each week, Fantasy Baseball Sportal will provide you with fantasy baseball player rankings for each position. These fantasy baseball rankings will be based on past performances and upcoming matchups. This week there are many new names who have cracked the Top 5 fantasy rankings including youngsters like Casey McGehee, Franklin Gutierrez and even old vets like Pudge Rodriguez has made the list.


1. Brian McCann, Atlanta Braves

McCann, who has only struck out twice this season, is looking to add to his current average of .346.  He’ll do that this coming week when the Braves face the Philadelphia Phillies at home.  McCann has a career BA of .300 at home, and a .304 career BA against the Phillies.

Matt Wieters has recorded 2 hits in four games this season


1. Joe Mauer, Minnesota Twins

-The best catcher in the game has 3 doubles and a longball in 8 hits.

2. Matt Wieters, Baltimore Orioles

- Did not take long for the young catcher to make his fantasy owners happy. Wieters is hitting .389 with seven hits. Six of those came in the first series against the Rays, who the Orioles face this week once again.

3. Yadier Molina, St. Louis Cardinals

- Surprising power in the first week hitting two homers. With an upcoming series against the Astros, expect Yadier and the rest of the Cardinals offense to explode.
