Top 5 Fantasy Baseball Sleepers of the Week (Jun. 13th)

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

He can't run anymore, but he sure can hit the ball still.

If you are in need of a part-time replacement or just a player to get you some nice production for a couple of days, we may just have your guy. When playing Fantasy Baseball, players must ride the “hot hand” for as long as they can, whether that is a player that is 100% or 1% owned, you must put the hottest players in your lineup. Here are some guys who can give you some additional help for the upcoming week.

1.Carlos Guillen, DH, Detroit Tigers

Guillen is finally recovering from his sore toe and has been playing and hitting well ever since. Last five games, his batting .381 with three doubles, six RBI and a home run. Guillen will be hitting behind Magglio Ordonez and Miguel Cabrera. He will have a good amount of chances to drive some runs in. He’s only owned in 6.3% of leagues and I would snatch him of the wavier wire. Jim Leyland might be trying to find a position from him on the field so I would keep on eye on that. The Tigers have a three game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks and they have one of the worst pitching roster in the MLB. Diamondbacks ERA is at 5.42. That is worst in the MLB. This series is where you want to take advantage and start Guillen. (more…)

Top 5 Fantasy Baseball Sleepers of the Week (Jun. 3rd)

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Mike Fontenot has been taking starts away from Ryan Theriot at 2B this past week.

FBS is back with its top fantasy baseball sleepers. These players fall under the radar on most fantasy teams, but can definitely give your team a boost this upcoming week starting June 7th. With disabled lists getting longer and longer every day, fantasy baseball teams are struggling with keeping rosters healthy. If you are looking for a sleeper pick for the week to fill an injury spot or start for an underperforming player, keep these 5 players in your head before you select your lineup.

Top Fantasy Baseball Matchups (May 28)

Friday, May 28th, 2010

Alex Rios is playing like its 2007 all over again.

Looking for the best fantasy baseball matchups this week? You have come to the right place. FBS provides readers with the top hitter and top pitching matchups going into the week.

1. Alex Rios, OF CHW

Analysis: It wasn’t too long ago that Rios seemed like a monumental bust. After signing a lucrative extension with Toronto, the talented OF failed to meet expectations and was ultimately awarded to the Chicago White Sox via a straight waiver claim last summer. Perhaps the change of scenery has allowed Rios to tap into his talent because he’s been absolutely brilliant all season long for the ChiSox. Specifically, he sports a .342 average in May with six homers and 14 RBI with six SB. I don’t expect him to continue at this pace all season long, but he’s showing no signs of cooling down any time soon. With a season long line of 9/23/.309 and 15 steals, Rios is finally performing like the Roto monster that many expected him to be, including former Blue Jays GM JP Riccardi.
