Another week, another update

You know the rules, another week of fantasy baseball means another week of fantasy injury updates. Read below to get a quick glance at who’s coming and going for week 16 of the fantasy regular season.

OF, Jose Bautista/Toronto Blue Jays: Jose Bautista has missed the last several games with a twisted right ankle. He hasn’t been placed on the DL yet, as the injury is not believed to be that serious. The Blue Jays believe that Bautista may have a good shot at returning for their next game on Tuesday the 19th at home against Seattle. For those in weekly leagues, I deem it safe to roll him this week. (more…)

Joey Votto leads a pack of NL Central bats.

With the All-Star game behind us, these National League stars now just have to fight out who will be that team that gets home field advantage in the World Series. With no less than 8 contenders for 4 playoff spots, the race towards the finish could be one of the more interesting ones in recent history. Who will win the NL Central, and who will be the heroes? Fans will have to wait and see to find out. These are the National League Power Rankings as of July 17th.

1) Joey Votto – CIN (Previously: 5)

While many of the top National All-Star selections are struggling, Votto has excelled going into and out of the All-Star break. With 18 hits in July, good for an average of .367, Votto has helped put his Cincinnati Reds in the NL Central race. (more…)

2011 Fantasy Baseball: Week 15 Injury Report

Another week, another update

Another week, another set of injury updates.  Take a look at some of the big names that are coming or going, on the DL that is.

Carlos Gonzalez, OF/Colorado Rockies: An X-ray revealed a deep bone bruise for Carlos Gonzalez.  He returned to the lineup this past Friday as a defensive replacement, but still missed 4 games prior to that.  Hopefully after the All-Star break he’ll be recovered and ready to go, but bone bruises can be tricky and take a long time to heal.  Daily leaguers wait for updates, and weekly leaguers will want to tread carefully and proceed with caution.  After his return, I wouldn’t start him until he’s got a week under his belt and at least shows he can still play with that wrist. Matt Kemp has been dominating the National League

As the All-Star game comes closer and closer, the National League’s finest are showing that they belong on the summer’s biggest stage. Whether it is cracking home runs or just getting on base, this week’s National League Power Rankings feature the most productive players in the league, many of whom will represent the NL All-Star club. With Albert Pujols out, there are many questions as to who will fill in at first base, and there are plenty of other positions up for grabs. These are the National League Power Rankings as of June 26th.

1) Matt Kemp – LAD (Last Week: 1)

Matt Kemp is a having a stellar month of June, even as the Dodgers have faltered. His average for the month now stands at .368, and he has hit 8 homers and knocked in 20 runs, despite his Los Angeles club going 9-14 this month. (more…)
