Is he calling it? The triple crown?

This year in the 2011 fantasy baseball season, it has been really tough to pick out more than just one plausible triple crown candidate.  In the Fantasy baseball world, a triple crown player is of the utmost value to a manager trying to make a push for the fantasy baseball title.  A player that leads the league in average, RBI and home runs, is a player that can lead your team to the playoffs and finals by himself, or at least play a huge role in doing so!  In this list of triple crown threat(s), honorable mentions after Jose Bautista and Jay Bruce will be of no shortage. Jose Bautista

The Jays' Jose Bautista has been on a tear all season long.

Jose Bautista has been the best in the bigs all season long, but is his time as the most dominant player in the Majors coming to an end? An extremely hot month from Adrian Gonzalez has fans wondering what kind of numbers the slugging Red Sox star will post, and whether or not Bautista will be able to live up to the incredible numbers he has posted early this season. Time will tell who will continue to keep their bat red-hot, and who will sizzle away. These are the power rankings for the American League as of May 30.

1) Jose Bautista – TOR (Last Week: 1)

Bautista has not been touched in the top spot yet this season, and for good reason. The Blue Jays’ slugger is 1st in the league in home runs, 1st in runs, 1st in walks, 1st in OBP, 1st in slugging, and 1st in OPS. (more…)

Jose Bautista

Jose Bautista continues to hit, and hit with power.

As the Major League Baseball season passes the quarter mark and heads for the dog days of summer, the time has come to decide who is a contender, and who will fizzle away. Some of the hottest bats of April have seen their decline in May, while others needed a month to warm up. Some of the best have been doing it all season long, with no slump in sight. These are the best offensive fantasy baseball players in the American League as on May 23rd.

1) Jose Bautista – TOR (Last Week: 1)

As another week passes, more home runs stack up for the best player in baseball right now. Up to 19 home runs so far, Bautista is on pace to put up about 65 homers this season, and at this rate, he may just do it. (more…)

Jose Bautista Power Rankings

Jose Bautista refuses to give up top spot in AL Power Rankings

Just when it looked as though Bautista may be knocked out of the top spot as the best bat in the AL, he belted 3 homers in one game against the Twins. The season is a quarter of the way through, and the most prolific home run hitter in baseball right now is on pace for over 60 home runs. However, some of the best bats in the American League are creeping up in his rear view, vying for that top spot as the best bat in fantasy baseball. This is a list of the best hitters in the American League as of May 16th.

1) Jose Bautista – TOR (Last Week: 1)
Hot off of a game in which Bautista blasted 3 home runs, the most menacing right handed bat in the American League has opposing pitchers scratching their heads. (more…)

Adrian Gonzalez is Hot in Fantasy Baseball

Adrian Gonzalez has been on an absolute tear.

Here it is…the new “Hot” and “Not” list.  A couple of guys have returned to the “Hot” list for the second time this year, but everybody on the “Not” list is a newcomer this week.  With 40 games played so far in the 2011 season, we have a pretty good grasp as to who is, or who isn’t, performing at expected levels.  Check out the list below to see if any of the players are making an impact for your fantasy baseball team.

Fantasy Baseball Who’s Hot Week 6

Adrian Gonzalez, BOS 1B
Make it two weeks in a row on the “Hot” list for the newly acquired Boston first baseman.  Last week Gonzalez was on fire.  However, this week he took it to a whole new level.  In fact, I don’t even know if there is an appropriate word out there to describe just how scalding hot Gonzalez’s bat has been over this past week.   (more…)
