OF, Torii Hunter/L.A. Angels: On Friday, July 1st, during the first inning of the game, Torii Hunter was hit by a pitch on his left hand from Hiroki Kuroda and was removed from the game after playing two innings after the incident. X-rays came back negative, but he was still held out of the lineup for both Saturday and Sunday and is listed as day-to-day. The injury is being called a bruised left hand. Manager Mike Scioscia did however say that Hunter would be available for defense and pinch-running, so it doesn’t sound like the injury is too serious. For managers in weekly lineup leagues, if you have another solid option on the bench, I would use it until he proves he can still hit with that wrist. Daily leagues, keep him sidelined until further notice. (more…)
