2011 Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Zach Britton & Week One Sleepers

Britton has looked VERY impressive.

While many fantasy baseball owners try to find sleepers in the draft, the more effective way to find them is in the early parts of the season. We have seen a lot of young pitchers make statements in the first couple weeks of our young season. While veterans may provide owners with more consistency, there is no doubting the young pitching talent that has sprouted up across the major leagues already, providing owners with a nice crop of fantasy baseball sleepers.
Zach Britton – SP – Baltimore Orioles
Britton started the season off on a solid note by holding the Rays to only three hits and one run over six innings in his major league debut. The young lefty had a 6:3 strikeout to walk ratio while keeping his pitch count down. (more…)

When you become a regular in the riser column, it shows you are putting up big numbers on a regular basis. Batting .377 with six homeruns, 13 RBI’s, and a 1.144 OPS, Jose Guillenhas done just that. He should be being played in all formats for the time being.

Another week is gone and over in the 2010 fantasy baseball season, which means we’re back into digging through your league’s free agency pool for some fantasy gems. We try our best each week to grind it out and pluck five (or more) genuine sleepers out of the murky free agent waters, but this week we can only settle on four.

Here at Fantasy Baseball Sportal, we try to give the best fantasy advice, and while that means getting you the names that will help your team, it also can mean not forcing the issue on players who aren’t so deserving, just to meet the week’s quota.
