Miguel who?

We’re now two months into the fantasy season and odds are that your team is currently battling an injury or two. Perhaps you’re just looking to inject some new life into your lineup and ride a hot hand. Here at FBS, our risers and fallers detail the guys that are heating up and those that are cooling down, so you can outsmart all of the owners in your league.

Risers

1.Buster Posey, C/1B, San Francisco: The Giants simply couldn’t keep his bat in the minors any longer. Posey was called up last week and has certainly shown he belongs. He’s currently sporting a line of .450/1/6 in 40 Abs including seven multi-hit games in his last twelve. He also just hit his first homer Wednesday night, so he could be finding his groove. He’s had no problem adjusting to big-league pitching and doesn’t belong on any waiver wire at this point. Make sure he’s not available in your league, but if he is, scoop him up immediately, pat yourself on the back, and enjoy the ride. This kid’s for real. (more…)

Davd Ortiz

Ortiz is turning things around in Boston.

Risers:

David Ortiz, BOS, DH

The season started and David Ortiz started out exactly as he did in 2009. Last year he hit .185 with 1 HR in April and May combined. In the four months after that Ortiz hit .264 with 26 HR’s. This year he hit .143 with 1 HR in April. In 53 at bats in May, Ortiz is hitting .358 with 7 HR’s. Ortiz looks to be going at a similar pace this year, except one thing, he is starting earlier. Barry Zito

Zito is finally earning his hefty paycheck.

Risers

Barry Zito, SF, SP, (Owned in 79% in standard Yahoo leagues)

For the first time since the Giants signed him to a blockbuster deal, (which was four years ago), Zito looks like the ace that they paid for. He is 3-0 in four starts thus far, with a 1.32 ERA, a 0.84 WHIP, and a .161 batting average against. Zito is yet to give up a single long ball all year. (more…)

Fantasy Baseball Risers and Fallers (April. 25th)

Jim Edmonds

Edmonds could be a sound addition to your roster.

Risers

Jose Guillen, KC, OF, (Owned in 75% of standard Yahoo leagues)

When you become a regular in the riser column, it shows you are putting up big numbers on a regular basis. Batting .377 with six homeruns, 13 RBI’s, and a 1.144 OPS, Jose Guillenhas done just that. He should be being played in all formats for the time being.

Colby Rasmus, STL, OF, (62%)

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: when you bat behind Albert Pujols and Matt Holiday, you will see a plethora of good pitches and will produce on a regular basis. (more…)
