Every year in the majors there are players who have shown consistency in their performances season after season, but for whatever reason they failed to live up to expectations.

In some cases, the blame falls on injury, opportunity, or, in some cases, just plain bad luck. Players such as Dan Uggla and David Wright in 2011 come to mind. Although it can be hard to draft or trade for a player who burned you last year, there are some of those guys who not only deserve a second look in 2012, but are must own players.

With Spring Training in full swing, the 2012 fantasy baseball season is just around the corner. During the next week or so, fantasy baseball fiends across the United States will be flooding draft rooms to select their 2012 fantasy baseball lineups.

Due to a lack of depth at shortstop this season, the position is arguably the most important in the draft. The ideal shortstop will hit for average, steal bases, drive in runs and hit for solid power. However, there are simply not very many five tool shortstops nowadays.
