Another week, another update

Another week of baseball, another week of injury updates. Take a look at some big names that may or may not be able to help your fantasy cause for this week.

1B, Paul Konerko/Chicago White Sox: After being hit by a pitch on his left calf during Sunday’s game, Paul Konerko was removed from the lineup and given the rest of the day off. After X-rays were taken, only a bruise was revealed. Consider the injury minor and expect to see Pauli back in the White Sox lineup on Monday, at home, against the New York Yankees; a series in which Ozzie Guillen will most assuredly want Konerko to be a part of. Talk about draft day values

At 35 years of age, Can Paul Konerko actually win the AL MVP trophy?  He’s certainly been playing like he should win it.  Today, Konerko is batting .327 with 21 homers, 59 RBI and 39 runs.  We aren’t even at the All-Star break yet, so he definitely looks to be on pace for a 30-35+ home run year, again!  Talk about draft day value.  I snagged this guy in round 5 of my fantasy baseball draft.  Now I know round 5 might not seem like a big bargain round, but when your round 5 pick is putting up numbers like a round 1 pick player should be, he’s a bargain. 2011 Fantasy Baseball: Top 10 Shortstops

This is the man on top of many experts' list!

The shortstop position is very top heavy this fantasy baseball season, but the list does have some players that are consistent. Some of these shortstops can be valuable fantasy players at a low price. This is not a position where you will find power outside of Hanley Ramirez and Troy Tulowitzki unless someone else steps up in 2011.

This is a position filled with players that have had recent injuries, but if healthy, they are capable of producing valuable numbers in five or six categories, which could make them very helpful on your roster. (more…)
