Another week, another update
You know the rules, another week of fantasy baseball means another week of fantasy injury updates. Read below to get a quick glance at who’s coming and going for week 16 of the fantasy regular season.
OF, Jose Bautista/Toronto Blue Jays: Jose Bautista has missed the last several games with a twisted right ankle. He hasn’t been placed on the DL yet, as the injury is not believed to be that serious. The Blue Jays believe that Bautista may have a good shot at returning for their next game on Tuesday the 19th at home against Seattle. For those in weekly leagues, I deem it safe to roll him this week. (more…)

What's with all the stud drop off?
What’s wrong with Carl Crawford? What’s wrong with Adam Dunn? Or how about Hanley Ramirez, Chone Figgins and even David Wright, hitting only .226 in 146 at bats before he went on the DL? What’s wrong with these guys? Why do we see that every year in fantasy baseball, where guys that have always been good and have always produced at a high level, fantasy studs, if you will, suddenly come out the next year to struggle and hit for a horribly low average? Carl Crawford has been a major disappointment so far in 2011
Do you sometimes wonder if we’re ever going to have a year where all our spring training projections just pan out the way that we envisioned? I don’t think so, the world just isn’t that perfect. Welcome to the realm of fantasy sports, where pre-season breakout candidates plummet and waiver wire nobodies become crucial cogs to fantasy baseball playoff-bound teams. And of course, that’s why they play the games. Here is a list of my most disappointing players to date for the 2011 MLB fantasy baseball season.
OF, Carl Crawford | Boston Red Sox
What’s with all the outfielders on this list? And what’s with Carl Crawford only hitting a mere .211? (more…)

Crawford has gotten off to a slow start in 2011.
Every year in this crazy world of professional sports, some huge free agent acquisition goes down, or someone gets picked up off waivers and we wonder how that player could even look in another uniform. Think of Drew Brees playing for the San Diego Chargers before he went to the New Orleans Saints, or even Johnny Damon signing with the Yankees in 06, which I thought was the craziest thing ever, especially after being so popular with the Boston Red Sox and supposedly hating the Yankees. What about all those so-called bloody games and brutal series’ they had together? Anyway, it’s hard to imagine seeing certain players in different uniforms, but it happens every year and we always wonder how it’s all going to pan out for the new team and player.

The AL East is loaded with talent...as always.
When talking baseball, the discussion often starts and ends with the American League East, winners of nine of the last 18 World Series. Throw in what some call the greatest rivalry in sports, and the AL East is an incredibly dynamic division. On one hand the division is filled with enough talent to fill an All-Star fantasy roster. On the other hand, the fans of the division can be very prideful, to a fault. So if you’re in a league with a Red Sox or Yankee fan, know that those players are likely to go way to early. With that in mind, here’s the AL East preview. (more…)
