Matt Kemp

Matt Kemp has been dominating the National League

As the All-Star game comes closer and closer, the National League’s finest are showing that they belong on the summer’s biggest stage. Whether it is cracking home runs or just getting on base, this week’s National League Power Rankings feature the most productive players in the league, many of whom will represent the NL All-Star club. With Albert Pujols out, there are many questions as to who will fill in at first base, and there are plenty of other positions up for grabs. These are the National League Power Rankings as of June 26th.

1) Matt Kemp – LAD (Last Week: 1)

Matt Kemp

Matt Kemp has hit well this June.

The best bats in the National League so far this season have slowed up a bit lately, but still have opposing pitchers working around them. Matt Kemp and Prince Fielder are not hitting long balls every game like they were a week ago, but they still have respect at the plate. Creeping up are a few new players who would like to steal the top spot in the NL as the season wears on into the summer. These are the best bats in the National League as on June 19th.

1) Matt Kemp – LAD (Last Week: 2)

Matt Kemp has been hitting a ton all month long. Although his power has declined over the past week, he has still managed to hit .400 for the month of June, an impressive feat. (more…)

Prince Fielder

Prince Fielder has been on fire in June.

Prince Fielder and Matt Kemp have been absolutely stellar over the first half of June. They have opposing pitchers scared to throw the ball near the plate as these guys keep depositing souvenirs to the outfield bleachers. Look for their respective teams to heat up as their bats stay hot, and watch what some of the other fine offensive players are doing for their clubs. These are the National League power rankings as on June 12th.

1) Prince Fielder – MIL (Last Week: 8)

Fielder has been on an absolute tear, and has quickly become the kind of player opposing pitchers are just going to want to avoid. In just 11 games in June, Fielder has homered 8 times and driven in 16 RBIs, contributing to his now league-leading 58 RBIs on the season. (more…)

Fantasy Baseball: Who’s Hot? Who’s Not? Week 9

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

New week, new players.  The season is sailing along as we move into June, and each week different players are finding themselves on the “Who’s Hot? Who’s Not?” list.  Check out this week’s list to see if any players from your fantasy baseball team are heating up (or cooling down).

Who’s Hot

Albert Pujols, STL 1B – “The Machine” is back, baby!  Actually, did he ever leave?  Yea, he started off the year slow, but so what?  Every great player is prone to slumps here and there, but when Pujols wasn’t dropping bombs right out of the gate, you would have thought the end of the world was near the way all the doubters and naysayers were putting in their two cents.  Give the guy a break.  He has ten straight seasons of .300/30/100 for cryin’ out loud.  But who cares what I think…enough ranting on my part.  Over the past week, Pujols showed why he is the best player in baseball by unleashing his wrath upon opposing pitchers. Matt Kemp

Matt Kemp is off to a fine start of June.

June has begun, and the Major League Baseball season will head into the dog days of summer. As the weather starts to heat up, so have some of the finest players the National League has to offer. While some names may continue to surprise, others have been there before. Some players wish May had offered a few more chances, while some just assume forget the second month of the season and move on. These are the best bats in the National League as of June 5th.

1) Matt Kemp – LAD (Last Week: 5)

After finding himself near the top of this list all season long, Matt Kemp has finally vaulted himself into the number one spot. (more…)
