Adrian Gonzalez has stepped up and become this week's AL Power Ranking's #1.
With how hot the Red Sox offense has been, it is not too surprising that they have a slew of players in this week’s American League Power Rankings. The best has been, who else, Adrian Gonzalez, who has n RBI total that rocks anyone else in the big leagues. Time will tell how high that total can climb, and how much Fantasy owners will feast on his production. These are the American League Power Rankings as of July 27th.
1) Adrian Gonzalez – BOS (Last Week: 2)
While he still has not been able to hit the long ball as of late, Adrian Gonzalez has been on an RBI tear. With 7 RBIs in his last 4 games, Gonzalez has pushed his season RBI total to a phenomenal 85. (more…)

Fantasy Strategy: Platooning your hitters
You know, I hear all the time about how certain players are substantially better against left-handed pitchers, or maybe exceptionally weak against righties, or vice-versa, or whatever. But just recently did I consider employing this knowledge as a part of my strategy. Sure, if Carlos Pena was up against a tough lefty, I’d sit him, more than likely, but I didn’t check his splits until recently. He’s currently batting .122 against left-handed pitchers, against righties hitting .252, with four times as many homers (16) in twice as many games (the ratio is less drastic looking at at-bats, I’ll admit). (more…)

Ryan Braun has taken over the National League.
A slew of National League Central stars are proving that they are both worth the money and a valuable asset to their team. As that race heats up, potential free agents and franchise players are starting to make a dent in the fantasy baseball market. From locked up players like Ryan Braun to potential free agents like Jose Reyes, the NL Power Rankings are chalk full of talent. These are the National League Power Rankings as of July 24th.
1) Ryan Braun – MIL (Last Week: 4)
Ryan Braun, who has been in and out of the Brewer lineup, has been a force when he gets to play. Braun has only played 11 games this month, but in those games, he is hitting .303 with 4 homers. (more…)

Another week, another update
To all my fantasy baseball owners out there, you know the rules, “another week of baseball, another week of injury updates.” You can’t live with them and you can’t live without them, so take a quick look at some key names either coming or going in week 17 of fantasy baseball action.
OF, Vladimir Guerrero/Baltimore Orioles: Could be activated from the DL by Tuesday’s series opener at Toronto. Guerrero has been out of action since the All-Star break after being hit by a pitch on his right hand. Guerrero has already played a rehab game for Class-AA Bowie on Sunday, so he looks like a full-go here in week 17 of fantasy baseball. (more…)

Jose Bautista is back on track.
Jose Bautista is back, and blasting home runs once again. He has a big lead over the second-best home run hitter in the league, who is also mentioned in this list, and is a name that might surprise you. While Adrian Gonzalez has been knocked off of the #1 spot, that does not mean that the Red Sox are not well-represented in this week’s American League Power Rankings. These are the AL Power Rankings as of July 18th.
1) Jose Bautista – TOR (Previously: 4)
Jose Bautista was happy to see June go, and his bat has heated up with the weather in July. After hitting only 4 homers in June, Bautista has already hit 7 in July, to contribute to his Majors-leading 31 HRs total. (more…)
