Monday, August 15th, 2011

Another week, another update

The Fantasy baseball regular season is winding down to a close, but as always, the injuries never do. Last week fantasy owners were fooled by Paul Konerko’s knee injury and Melky Cabrera’s supposed ankle injury. They both went on to have productive weeks in week 19 and should be strong going forward. Take a look at this week’s round of injury updates for week 20 of the fantasy baseball regular season.

3B, Adrian Beltre/Texas Rangers: Beltre has been out for the past three weeks with a strained hamstring. He was supposed to be back sooner, but re-aggravated his injury during the rehab process. He did however, take the road trip with his team over the weekend, but did not play. He could be just one or two more weeks away from a return, so daily and weekly fantasy baseball leaguers, look elsewhere for third base help. (more…)

2011 Fantasy Baseball: Week 19 Injury Report

Another week, another update

By now I’m sure you already know how my saying goes; another week of fantasy baseball means another week of injury updates. Take a look at who’s coming and going for week 19 of fantasy baseball action.

OF, Melky Cabrera/Kansas City Royals: Melky Cabrera was pulled from Saturday night’s game because of a sore left ankle. He hurt that same left ankle earlier in the week, so he might get extended time off for the ankle to fully recover. He was scratched from Sunday’s game and whether he will play or not on Monday, against the Rays, is yet to be seen. The Royals don’t seem to be making too much of the issue, so for right now it doesn’t seem too serious. Melky is considered day-to-day for now. (more…)

Adrian Gonzalez

Adrian Gonzalez and the Red Sox have a lot to celebrate about.

Adrian Gonzalez is trailed by a slew of Yankees and Red Sox, fittingly, as those two teams compete for the top spot in the AL East. The best players come through when their team needs them the most, and the best bats in the American League are proving themselves in tight pennant races. There are some big numbers showing up recently as the season winds down. Here are the American League Power Rankings as of August 3rd.

1) Adrian Gonzalez – BOS (Last Week: 1)

Adrian Gonzalez’s RBI total now sits at 90, which means he will almost definitely be the first player in baseball to cross over the 100 RBI mark, with much of the season left to play. (more…)

2011 Fantasy Baseball: Week 18 Injury Report

Monday, August 1st, 2011

Another week, another update

Another week of baseball, another week of injury updates. Take a look at some big names that may or may not be able to help your fantasy cause for this week.

1B, Paul Konerko/Chicago White Sox: After being hit by a pitch on his left calf during Sunday’s game, Paul Konerko was removed from the lineup and given the rest of the day off. After X-rays were taken, only a bruise was revealed. Consider the injury minor and expect to see Pauli back in the White Sox lineup on Monday, at home, against the New York Yankees; a series in which Ozzie Guillen will most assuredly want Konerko to be a part of. Matt Kemp

Matt Kemp is right back on top of the NL

The buyers have brought in new talent, and sellers have unloaded some of their best bats for young talent. The July 31st trade deadline has come and gone, and while most of the best producers have stayed put, some big bats have shuffled around the league. As the division races heat up, fans will find out who has the best value as the season winds down. These are the National League Power Rankings as of July 31st.

1) Matt Kemp – LAD (Last Week: 4)

Matt Kemp’s last week has been a good one, and hopefully one that has him back on track. Over his past 8 games, he has compiled 14 hits, with 3 doubles and 2 homers. (more…)
