Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire (Jun. 24th)

Boesch is a surefire addition to your fantasy squad.

If your team is in need of a boost we suggest looking at some of these gentlemen below. Not only are these players available, their on fire! You better hurry though, because the percentages (percent owned in Yahoo leagues) you see next to the players name will be rising quickly.

Brennan Boesch, DET, OF, (88):  He was an honorable mention last week and this week he is the top priority. Hurry up and pick up Boesch because he has been unstoppable as of late. His runs and RBI total is low which is why you don’t hear his name on Sportscenter every night, but his .337 AVG should have you starting him every day. Oh yeah, six of his 10 homeruns have come in June so I advise everyone to ride his hot streak.

Kevin Kouzmanoff, OAK, 3B (42): Kouzmanoff is hitting .418 on the month and is coming off of back to back days with a homer. He can be a bit hit o miss at the plate (no pun intended) but he has seem to found his power and is worth a pick up if you need utility or field help.

Ryan Theriot, CHC, SS/2B (88):  The Riot is the best pick up on the list this week, but the lack of available starter worthy short stops helps his stock.  Theriot gives owners the luxury of breathing a little before you have to find a new short stop on the waiver wire. He started off the season great then hit a down fall in May.  His average is picking back up and you should pick him up before it’s too late.

Jason Hammel, COL, SP (32): Hammel didn’t look like he would last long in the rotation in the beginning of the season and then he hit the DL for a groin injury.  Since then he has returned, however, it has been an entirely different Jason Hammel. You really only hear about Ubaldo Jimenez as far as Rockies pitching is considered, but he has been hot. In his past six starts he has a 2.41 ERA and seven Ks per nine innings.

Carl Pavano, MIN, SP (39):  The 34-year-old right hander is having his best season in a while so far in 2010. Pavano has won three straight has a 2.90 ERA for the month.  He won’t get you a ton of Ks but a pitcher that garners little hits and is on a hot streak is always a good fantasy addition.

Honorable Mention: Joel Piniero, LLA, SP (30); Jonathan Niese, NYM, SP (22); Trevor Cahill OAK, SP (21); Gaby Sanchez, FLA, 1B (9), Angel Pagan, NYM, OF (53), Jhoulys Chacin, COL, SP/RP (5);  Ryan Raburn, DET, OF (1)
