Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire (Jul. 9)

Tommy Hunter has won five straight decisions for the Rangers.

If your team is in need of a boost we suggest looking at some of these gentlemen below. Not only are these players available, their on fire! You better hurry though, because the percentages (percentage owned in Yahoo! leagues) you see next to the players name will be rising quickly.

Clint Barmes, COL, 2B/SS (70): Barmes is coming off of a 14-game hitting streak and has 7 runs scored over the past week. The Rockies are heating up and making a strong push for first against the Padres, who are coming back to earth.

Sean Rodriguez, TB, 2B/OF (51): Rodriguez has raised his batting average 20 points over the past two weeks and hit .367 this past week. Rodriguez is valuable in every statistical category except for hitting home runs.  Rodriguez is a good pickup as an outfielder and a great bench 2B.

Ricky Nolasco, FLA, SP (90): Three wins in a row now for Nolasco who was projected as a great fantasy starter in the beginning of the season. After a bad start, Nolasco dropped off in about 25% of fantasy leagues. Now that his teammates are giving him some run support his K’s are matching his wins.

Tommy Hunter, TEX, SP (50):  Hunter is on a streak of five wins and had a no decision against the Orioles.  Seriously, if he is available in your league scoop him up now, his unbelievably low ERA and WHIP can’t stay unnoticed much longer.

Wandy Rodriguez, HOU, SP (52): It is tough for any Astro to get a win, so don’t get too discouraged by his record. The ERA is a ridiculous 5.00 right now but Wandy has only allowed two runs in his three back-to-back wins. Wandy is worth a look for deeper leagues.

Honorable Mention:  Jamie Moyer, PHL, SP (22); Felipe Lopez, STL, SP (13); Corey Patterson, BAL, OF (11); Jason Nix, 2B/3B/OF, CLE (3); Omar Infante, ATL, 2B/3B/SS/OF (2)
