Every week we do our best to deliver top fantasy baseball advice, and this week is no different, with several interesting names on the waiver wire.
Take a look at who we’re arguing should have a chance to grace your fantasy roster sometime soon:
Jhoulys Chacin, COL, RP, (70%)
Although we only have a small sample size, (one relief appearance and two starts), Chacin has been perfect since being called up from the minors. He has won each of his two starts thus far and has not let up a run in any of his outings. Chacin has 16 strikeouts in just 15.1 innings pitched and a 0.78 WHIP and a .132 batting average against.
Evan Meek, PIT, RP, (87%)
Meek has been close to perfect on the year, letting up only two runs in 16 outings; his 0.82 ERA is among the best in the league. Meek has a minute 0.95 WHIP and .192 coupled with 22 strikeouts to only six walks, which displays that he has been rather dominant with great control of his stuff thus far.
Jon Garland, SD, SP, (58%)
After starting out 0-2 giving up six runs in his first two starts, Garland has bounced back quite remarkably to post a 4-0 record over his last five outings, letting up only two runs over that span. He has gotten his ERA down to 1.71. The only knock against him has been his walks, giving up 21 on the year already, but he has managed to get himself out of trouble, preventing them from scoring as of late.
J.D. Drew, BOS, OF, (53%)
Over his past 19 games, Drew has only been kept off the bases in one game and has managed to bring his average up from a miserable .133 to .284. Over that stretch, he has compiled 19 of his 21 RBI’s on the year and has also gotten his on-base percentage up to .368. Look to pick up Drew to ride this streak if he’s still available in your fantasy league.
Also Noteworthy: Doug Fister, SEA, SP, (56%); David Freese, STL, 3B, (50%);
Kosuke Fukudome, CHC, OF, (55%); Mike Leake, CIN, SP, (76%); Aubrey Huff, SF, 1B, (83%); Rod Barajas, NYM, C, (57%); Travis Snider, TOR, OF, (91%); Jason Vargas, SEA, SP/RP, (86%); Carl Pavano, MIN, SP, (55%)
