Mark Lowe

Lowe needs time to recover.

Mark Lowe-R-Mariners

Seattle manager Don Wakamatsu acknowledged on Monday that Mark Lowe, sidelines with back inflammation in early May, is still far from returning to the Mariner’s bullpen. Lowe had a 3.75 ERA over his first 11 appearances this season.

Adam Moore-C-Mariners

Adam Moore was able to take batting practice on Monday after suffering a leg injury about two weeks ago while hitting first base awkwardly. The key to his return will be running the bases, which he has yet to do.

Jack Wilson-SS-Mariners

Jack Wilson took early batting practice on Monday after being out with a hamstring injury. Wilson began a rehab assignment in mid-May and was maybe about a day or two away from joining back with the Mariners, but then strained his hamstring.

Erik Bedard-S-Mariners

Erik Bedard played long toss on Monday, testing his injured shoulder. Bedard is hoping to throw a bullpen session on Friday. There is no timetable for his return.

Brad Penny-S-Cardinals

Cardinals GM John Mozeliak said on Monday that he expects Brad Penny to be rady by the middle of June after straining his lat muscle. He has yet to resume throwing, though, so any timetable is kind of a guess.

Chase Headley-3B-Padres

Chase Headley went 4-for-5 with a solo homer and four runs scored as the Padres racked up 18 runs versus the Mets on Monday. Adrian Gonzalez also reached four times and scores three runs.

Hisanori Takahashi-R-Mets

Hisanori Takahashi was tagged for six runs in four innings Mondays in a loss to the padres. The grand slam by Jerry Hairston Jr. did most of the damage, but Takahashi also allowed eight hits, walked two and struck out just one.

Alexi Casilla-SS-Twins

Twins placed IF Alexi Casilla on the 15-day disabled list with bone spurs in his right elbow. He will likely need arthroscopic surgery that would sideline him for at least a month.

Chad Billingsley-S-Dodgers

Chad Billingsley struck out 11 over eight innings on Monday, but he wasn’t involved in the decision after giving up four run to the Diamondbacks. He also racked up six strikeouts through two innings, but he gave up three homers in the process.

Mark Reynolds-3B-Diamondbacks

Mark Reynolds was removed from Monday’s game in the top of the ninth inning with an apparent quad injury. The right quad is the same injury that bothered him in late April.
