Daily Fantasy Baseball Must Starts: Sunday June 17th

Daily Fantasy Baseball Must StartsTwo big name sluggers should be avoided today as you fill out your roster for daily fantasy baseball games.

Value plays:

Arizona Diamondbacks – As a team, the Baby Backs are hot at the dish right now, and a visit from Garrett Richards figures to continue that trend. Richards struggled with control in his last outing against the Dodgers, and will be in big time trouble if he puts himself in such jams again today. Every Arizona player has contributed in a strong start this June, and this is a good matchup to exploit in daily fantasy baseball games.

Ryan Braun – How can the best outfielder in the game be a value play? He is 7 for 12 against Nick Blackburn (.583 average) with 4 extra base hits. He has dominated the Twins righty and has been swinging a hot bat of late. He has homered 3 times in the last week, and is a good bet to do some damage tonight.

Players to avoid:

Robinson Cano – He may be the best second basemen in the game today, but he’s not worth your money in salary cap daily fantasy baseball games. The Nationals pitching is the real deal, and Edwin Jackson is a big reason why. Cano has only 6 hits in 28 career at bats (.214 average) with only one extra base hit. The Yankees can hit as well as anybody in the league, but this Nationals team is on a mission. This is a rare day in which you need to avoid Cano.

Justin Morneau – The Twins first basemen has been all over the place this season, and Zack Greinke is the type of pitcher who brings out the bad Morneau. He is batting a career .156 against Greinke with more strikeouts than walks. There are some days to take a risk on the Minnesota slugger, but today isn’t one of those days for daily fantasy baseball owners.
