Ackley got his long awaited call to the bigs last week
For the first time since its inception, the power rankings found it within itself to drop four prospects from the list this week, an all-time high. Between the overwhelming amount of prospects called up to the show early this season and the up and down performance of those already in the bigs, these changes seemed necessary. Another of the “super-hyped” prospects that fans have been waiting on for over a year made his major league debut this week, while a couple of prospects who haven’t received the same level of praise are making their mark as well. Not all of these guys will be fantasy baseball relevant right out of the gate, but they certainly warrant mentioning and absolutely need to be monitored in your respective leagues for sure.

Hellickson has gotten himself back on track as of late
Time can be such a cruel mistress and more often than not it gets away from us before we can fully grasp it. Some people use their time wisely, while others would much prefer to squander their precious time and pay the consequences. One caveat is that time can also be used to ones benefit if treated properly and tactfully. Jeremy Hellickson exploded onto the scene at the onset of the season and had his fantasy baseball owners expecting this youngster to anchor their respective staffs. After hitting a rough patch after the first month, many had written Hellickson off for the near future (including me), but he has stormed back and proven just about every doubter wrong. Eric Hosmer continues to show why he will undoubtedly win a batting title someday while his teammate Mike Moustakas finally joins him on the big league level. Check the words, peep game.

Pineda is making major league hitters look foolish
After a week long hiatus the prospect power rankings are back at ya. Much has changed since this space was last updated so there is plenty to touch on. Michael Pineda continues to tear up the league and cause even the most accomplished of major league hitters look foolish. Eric Hosmer has cooled down a bit from his white-hot start, but figures to make the adjustments necessary to be successful. Meanwhile Kyle Drabek has finally fallen off the list due to his lackluster control and inability to work deep into games. A couple of familiar names popped back into the list this week for a multitude of reasons, the most prominent of which being injury woes to proven stars. As I sit here typing this, the heat index is rising to nefarious levels much like these talented youngsters. Log in and get reacquainted with these fantasy baseball up and comers.

Britton has sorted himself out and appears ready to shine
The call-ups have been come at a steady clip in this young season and rookies are establishing themselves much sooner than ever before. Now more than ever teams are bucking the trend of keeping their young stars down in the minors due to financial concerns and bringing them up to the show in hopes they can contribute right away. It seems as though more top prospects broke camp with the big league club this year than usual and they have shown they belong, both in the majors and on your fantasy baseball squad. Only a couple of these dudes found themselves dropping off the list this week and one guy in particular surpassed even the wildest of expectations.
