Fantasy Baseball News: The All Value Team

Buck has a been a team and fan favorite since joining the Jays.

Before every fantasy baseball season, every owner has a favorite sleeper (or two, or eight) that they think will win them the championship. As we’ve all learned very well, sleepers don’t always exactly pan out the way in which we envision, so that’s why value picks are my favorite. Simply put, a value pick is a guy who has outperformed his ADP (average draft position) statistically. Let’s take a look at this list of guys considered fantasy duds who are playing like fantasy studs.

C: John Buck, Toronto: .279 AVG, 15 HR, 55 RBI

After falling out of favor in Kansas City and failing to live up to his hype, Buck took his talents up to Toronto and has found a home across the boarder. In fact, the 30-year old catcher even made it to the All-Star Game this year in what has to be the most memorable of his life. Fantasy baseball owners probably weren’t expecting this type of contribution from the underachieving veteran and most likely came at pennies on the dollar. (more…)

Top 5 Weekly Fantasy Matchups (September 10th)

Pence has been a real bright spot for Houston in 2010.

As we head into the final three weeks of the fantasy baseball season, owners are looking for the best plays to maximize production out of the players. Despite the majority of the guys listed playing for non-contenders, they are all certainly very capable of helping out your roster as the playoff push continues.


1.Hunter Pence, OF HOU: .290 AVG, 23 HR, 82 RBI, 87 R, 18 SB

It’s not often that two Astros outfielders appear together on a list of top fantasy plays, but the contributions by Pence & Bourn are far too great to ignore. (more…)

Top 10 Weekly Fantasy Starting Pitchers (September 5th)

Oswalt has had no problem adjusting to Philadelphia.

We’re heading into the home stretch of the fantasy season and per usual, pitching could very well determine whether owners finish in first or fourth place. With most fantasy baseball leagues beginning playoffs this week, it’s time to see what pitchers are going to be the most valuable as the season begins to wind down.

1.Roy Oswalt, SP PHI: 10-13, 3.01 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 161 K

Oswalt has now made seven starts for Philadelphia and has gone 4-1 over that span with a 1.89 ERA and 41 K’s. (more…)
